Effective 2026-10-18. These documents govern your use of TickerSleuth (the "Site"), operated by its owner (the "Operator", "we"). Reading them is worth two minutes: the Site publishes information, including text produced by an AI model, and none of it is investment advice.
Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By opening the Site or creating an account you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer below. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. What the Site is
The Site is an information hub: a daily market brief, a page per stock drawing on public filings and market data, personal watch lists with a written briefing each, a view of money flow across sectors, a wire of government policy actions, and research dossiers generated on request. It collects, organises and summarises public information. It does not execute trades, hold funds or give personal recommendations.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- An account is a username and a password. Keep the password to yourself; everything done under your account is your responsibility. Tell us if you believe it has been compromised.
- One account per person. Automated sign-ups are not allowed.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, abuses the service or has been inactive for a long time, and we may close the service as a whole, with notice where practical.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, crawl, bulk-download or otherwise extract the Site's content or data, by script or by hand, beyond ordinary personal reading;
- redistribute, resell, republish or display the Site's data or generated text to others, or build a product or dataset from it;
- probe, overload, bypass or interfere with the Site's security, rate limits or access controls, or use another person's account;
- use the Site for anything unlawful, or to make statements about a security that you know to be false.
5. Content and intellectual property
The Site's design, code, text, arrangement and generated analyses belong to the Operator. Market and company data displayed on the Site belong to their providers (see Data sources) and remain subject to those providers' terms. Filings and economic series published by United States government bodies are in the public domain. You receive a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to read the Site; no other rights pass to you.
6. Paid features
Everything on the Site is currently free. If paid features are introduced, their price, scope and refund terms will be stated at the point of purchase and will supplement these Terms. A paid plan buys access to features, never a promised investment result.
7. Availability and change
The Site is provided as it stands and as it is available. Data arrives from third parties and models that we do not control; a feed may be late, a model may be wrong, a page may be down. We may change, pause or remove any part of the Site at any time without liability.
8. No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any figure, chart, label, score or written conclusion is correct.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of profit, trading loss, loss of data or loss of opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, whatever the legal theory, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred United States dollars.
10. Indemnity
You will indemnify the Operator against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the Operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to resolve any dispute in the courts of that state, unless the law of your place of residence gives you a right you cannot waive. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stand.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. The effective date at the top moves when we do, and continued use after a change is acceptance of it. Material changes affecting account holders will be flagged on the Site.
Privacy Policy
In one paragraph: the Site keeps the minimum. An account is a username and a hashed password. We do not ask for your name, your email or a payment card, we run no advertising or third-party analytics, and we never sell data about you.
What we collect
- Account data: the username you choose and a one-way hash of your password (we cannot read the password itself). An email address only if you ever give us one.
- What you make: the watch lists you build and the research you request, tied to your account so we can show them back to you.
- Security and server logs: the network address a request came from, the time, the page requested, and sign-in, sign-up and lockout events. These let us stop abuse, rate-limit, and debug failures.
- One cookie: a signed session cookie that keeps you signed in. It carries an account identifier and nothing else. There are no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
How we use it
To run your account, to show you your lists and dossiers, to enforce the per-account limits, to keep the Site secure, and to fix what breaks. Nothing is used for advertising or profiling.
Who else sees it
- Hosting and network providers handle the traffic that reaches us and can see network addresses and request metadata in the ordinary course of carrying it.
- The AI provider receives the public information being analysed: ticker symbols, filings, prices, headlines. It does not receive your username, password or network address.
- Data providers receive the ticker symbols we look up on your behalf, never your identity.
- We disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the Site and its users from fraud or attack. We never sell or rent it.
Retention
Account data and the lists and dossiers you created are kept while the account exists. Security logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded. When an account is deleted its lists and the link between you and your research requests are removed; anonymous cached research (which contains no account data) may persist.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data; write to the contact below and we will act within thirty days. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California and other places with data-protection laws have the rights those laws provide, and we honour them regardless of where you live.
Children
The Site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed with a modern memory-hard algorithm, traffic is encrypted in transit, sign-ins are rate-limited and locked out after repeated failures, and only the Operator can read the account store. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you we will say so.
Changes
We may revise this policy. The effective date at the top moves when we do.
Disclaimer
Nothing on this Site is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation or an offer to buy or sell any security.
Not an adviser, not a broker
The Operator is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or financial planner, and the Site does not know your financial situation, goals or risk tolerance. Scores, labels such as "cheap", "rich", "strong" or "weak", setups, verdicts and written conclusions are mechanical readings of public data and model output, published for information and discussion only. Any decision you make is yours alone. Consult a licensed professional before acting.
Content generated by an AI model
Briefings, dossier summaries and the per-list and per-stock write-ups are produced by a large language model from the data shown beside them. Such text can be wrong, out of date, incomplete, or confidently misstate a fact. It is not reviewed by a human before it appears. Check any figure that matters against the primary source.
Data accuracy and timing
Prices, quotes and bars may be delayed, and may reflect one trading venue rather than the consolidated market. Company figures come from filings as first reported and from third-party series; some figures are derived (for example a fourth quarter computed as a year minus nine months, or a revenue figure built from per-share data) and are marked as such where they appear. Feeds fail, filings are amended and vendors restate. We make no promise that any number is accurate, complete or current.
Risk
Securities can lose value, including all of it. Past performance, a historical base rate or a back-test is not a guide to future results. Short selling, leverage and small, thinly traded names carry additional risk.
No relationship
Your use of the Site creates no advisory, fiduciary or professional relationship between you and the Operator. The Operator and people connected with the Site may hold positions in securities mentioned.
Data sources and attribution
The Site draws on the following sources. Third-party data remains the property of its providers and is subject to their terms; it is displayed for your personal information and may not be extracted or redistributed.
- U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, EDGAR — filings, XBRL company facts, submissions. Public domain.
- Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, FRED; U.S. Department of the Treasury; U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics — economic series and releases. Public domain or free to use with attribution.
- Federal Register, Congress.gov, the White House, federal agencies — policy actions, rules and bills. Public domain.
- Finnhub — company fundamentals, estimates, analyst stances, peer sets and standardised financial series.
- Alpaca Markets — market prices, bars and quotes; headlines supplied by Benzinga through Alpaca.
- Anthropic — the language model that writes the briefings and summaries.
Sector and industry groupings are the Operator's own and are not a licensed classification standard.
